This is the second painting I’ve entered to the same competition, the Patchings Art 2012 competition. It’s called “Pomodorinos” and it’s in oil, using the Winsor & Newton Artisan (water-soluable) and Jackson Art Shop’s own water-soluble Oil paint ranges.
We’ll see if either of these paintings get anywhere (i.e. accepted into the competition for a start!) but I’m just really pleased to have gotten my act together and actually entered a competition as I’ve been promising myself for the last year that I’d have a go. Judging for the competition starts after today (the last day for entries!!! eeekkkk) …. will let you know what happens for me.
This is a pencil portrait I did of my little girl, Marianne, way back in September 2010. I’ve recently been asked by a local framing shop to create some flyers for them to include with sales for my work - they’ve seen some samples for work that has been displayed at my local library. So, I thought I’d get some of my work here on my blog.
While my OCA coursework has taken precedent, I will be giving some more time to portraits soon, so will post newer work on the blog when it’s ready - already have an order in from my mum! Will post that on completion.

David Hockney at the RA
Going to see the David Hockney exhibition today. I’m really looking forward to it. I wasn’t interested in him til I read an article about him - he sounded like a genuine guy who has a very down to earth approach to life and art. Will post again later!
My first Brushes drawing on the iPhone.
Oh yeaaaa!
Just waking up and making my first “in bed” post! I have an iPhone albeit an older model (3G) but I’m so excited and grateful I don’t mind what the model is.
